Vitol Biomethane celebrates commercial operations milestone at Texoma RNG facility

WHITESBORO, Texas, Vitol BioMethane LLC (VBM) today announced the commencement of commercial operations at its BMP Texoma LLC renewable natural gas (RNG) facility located at the Texoma Area Solid Waste Authority landfill in Whitesboro, Texas, Grayson County.

VBM developed the Texoma Project in partnership with the Texoma Area Solid Waste Authority following the award of a contract to develop and operate a landfill-gas-to-energy initiative at the site. The project includes construction of a new Gas Collection and Control System (GCCS), an RNG processing plant, natural gas pipeline and a pipeline interconnection designed to capture and process landfill gas into RNG, reducing the reliance on traditional fossil fuels.

To commemorate the Commercial Operations Date (COD) milestone, VBM will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 5, 2026, from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. CT at the Texoma facility.

The Texoma Project captures landfill methane and converts it into renewable natural gas used to help power local homes and transportation fuel fleets, supporting emissions reduction and lower-carbon energy solutions.
